I even brought along a few extra loose hotel shampoos (donating to the women's shelter) last time with no issue.
They did pull out a 20-oz bottle I carried through and chuck it. But they let the extra small liquids in the bag slide.
I asked and they swore up and down that it was still in force. The guy I asked at EWR was the very screener who just let my bag through. I asked if there was a change - "no". I asked if we still had to take our baggies out - "yes". I asked why they stopped reminding people - "we assume they know by now".
Ok, guys, no one has the balls to admit it's changed. I get it.
Has it occurred to you that it's probably fairly straightforward to identify the smaller bottles from an x-ray image, and common sense is being used? Is your point that you just want people to acknowledge that something has "changed" or that you want the rules to be followed to the letter, and every bag will be stopped and searched if
any bottle of any size is detected?
