3-1-1 has suddenly and greatly changed
Things are different in the last two months. Although the signs remain, screeners are no longer hollering "liquids out" at everyone, and not enforcing that rule. I've started just leaving the bag in my (crowded) pack and have gone through security at multiple locations (CLE, CAK, BOS, EWR) with no questions. I even brought along a few extra loose hotel shampoos (donating to the women's shelter) last time with no issue.
They did pull out a 20-oz bottle I carried through and chuck it. But they let the extra small liquids in the bag slide.
I asked and they swore up and down that it was still in force. The guy I asked at EWR was the very screener who just let my bag through. I asked if there was a change - "no". I asked if we still had to take our baggies out - "yes". I asked why they stopped reminding people - "we assume they know by now".
Ok, guys, no one has the balls to admit it's changed. I get it.
