For Puxi, in case the drivers still are confused with the card (they shouldn't be), just tell them to go to the train station (Shanghai Railway Station).

In Chinese it sounds like "Hwah-cheh John" (pinyin is Huoche zhan).

From there, go to the street level (up escalators) head away from the train station towards the McDonalds and cross over the walkway that goes over a big intersection (Holiday Inn will be on your right).

From the train station you can see the Intercontinental Hotel, big logo, you can't miss it. Probably about a 5 min walk max.
