Priceline bidding for the car is the way to go at LIH. I had a 9 day rental for 180 all in. There are so many wonderful things to see on Kauai, it would be a shame not to see at least some of them... unless this is a repeat trip (and you've 'seen the sights') and one doesn't want the hassle of a rental car.
