I am new to flyertalk and am already a victim. My Flt from mia to scl was delayed by 1.6 hrs..as a result when it reached scl the airport was closed due to weather, however a delta flt made it there on time 1 hr earlier and landed. as a result aa 933 was diverted to Mendosa argentina where we landed a 777 with no ground support to fuel the plane(9am). We were kept on the plane for 3 hrs, but the first and business travelers were taken off almost immediately. Additionally we were then told the crew was illegal and couldnt move the plane..we were towed to the terminal area and off loaded into a small restaurant. No Immigration or customs. Also no sign of the first or business class passengers. Then 2 different airlines - lan chile and argentinas aerolineas landed and we could see that they were boarding those passengers from our flight. We had to sit in the restaurant area until 8 pm and were put on a flt to SCL. So I lost an entire day sitting in Mendosa. The delay in MIA was based on late arriving AA equipment from LAX. My question is how can i get some satifaction? I am a AA Platinum member, and the AA desk just basically blew me off. I had a terrible experience with AA 3 weeks ago in MIA on another flight to Sao Paulo which was delayed by 3 hrs, sitting on eqpt and then taken out of service.
