BA just not responding

I did everything BA advised when we got stuck in Rome for 4 days. Even moved hotel to get the costs down. I sent in receipts as advised but only got an email apologising for the delay and failing to mention the claim at all.

I've sent a follow up letter by recorded delivery but still had no response by email or post.

I'm interested to read that some people have actually been compensated. I've no idea if they are going to get round to me eventually or if I've been put into a bin marked "ignore and they'll go away".

The email from BA also suggested that I write in for a letter to prove the flight was delayed so that I could claim on insurance. I did this but:
- no letter from BA
- no claim form from BA travel insurance 5 weeks after I phoned
- specific terms and conditions in the policy disclaiming costs resulting from CAA action

Any ideas on what to do next? Anyone taken this higher or to the CAA?
