Gate Agents Selling Standby Upgrades Instead of Upgrading Medallions?
On my last two trips on Delta, the gate agents were selling standby upgrades instead of upgrading Medallions. Since I was sitting near the counter for one flight, I saw at least three customers buy the upgrades. I, a GM, was #1 on the upgrade list on both trips and didn't get upgraded presumably due to the sales. Is this a new policy (i.e., to delay upgrading Medallions in hopes of selling the upgrades at the gate)?
At least, I had my Sky Priority coupon to get a cocktail in coach.
