I haven't always been going YYZ-LAX so much. Breakdown is:
2004: 4;
2005: 6;
2006: 6;
2007:13;
2008:14;
2009:20;
2010:12 times.

So, really only since 2010. It used to be every 2 or 3 weeks, but this year I am obsessed with not losing my status. And, I get a free flight every 2.7 trips, so I've started traveling every other weekend. I've explained that to a few border guards; most get it.

Other times I don't even have to -- I explain that I'm a shopaholic and there are better bargains in LA than Canada. I've explained I have no husband; no kids and the same boring job for 10 years and LA is the most exciting way to spend a weekend.

I've explained that my trips average $589/weekend (airfare; hotel; rental car; park'n'fly for my own car). I have all the paperwork to back me up.

In 2005 I was searched because when asked if I had food, I said I had strawberries.

In 2009 I was searched because the kid was new and didn't understand thy concept of traveling for pleasure. And last weekend - I still don't know. I think the guy was just having a crap day.

I just really hope I don't have to go through this every single time from now on. I mean, if every person who got the secondary search got a secondary search every single time they traveled forever after, lines would be very backed-up, right?

So there's a chance it was a one-time thing? After the search in 2009 I was worried and it took another year for a secondary search.

All I can do is have my documents in order, including a copy of my credit card statement showing all the places I typically visit on a trip, along with my itinerary information which backs up my story that I always stay at the same hotel & use the same rental car. I don't know what else I can do.

Are they going to want my fingerprints everytime?
