Question on Domestic Flights and Viewing Available Seats

Hi everyone,

While I'm in Japan I want to fly on JAL's 747s before they are retired. It looks like I'll be taking a HND-CTS return flight.

Two questions:
1. I noticed class J is only 1000 yen more. I think domestic class J only offers a bigger seat with no lounge access or any other perks. Is that right?

2. Is there a way to view available seats before booking? For my flight in Y I want to sit on the upper deck but want to make sure there are seats available!
