I can't comment for certain as to whether AA is a Worldtracer customer..
However, from what I remember, Worldtracer is not really a proactive system. That is to say that bags are entered into Worldtracer when they go unclaimed on a carousel or are found where they don't belong. Then if there's a match in the Worldtracer system, they can figure out where it belongs.
I know many airlines don't submit baggage info to the Worldtracer system until it has been missing for a few days. Unfortunately, I don't think any airlines scan bags every step of the way like FedEx.
