I completed a one night stay at the Hyatt Regency Perth a few days ago. I was upgraded to a newly refurbished Club room on the 8th floor (could even smell fresh paint). The room had a large flatscreen TV (about 42 or 44 inches), extensive minibar, medium size work desk, lounge chair, two desk chairs and large shower. It would seem the larger shower has taken the place of a shower/tub combination; no tub anymore which I found suprising although not sure if this is part of all the newly refurbished rooms. The doors are now also equipped with electronic key tag readers.

Diamond welcome amenity was the usual plate of fresh fruit (banana, mandarin, pear, apple) and a bootle of red wine.

The Club spread in the evening was barely adequate, unfortunately. Not hot food, period. The cold selection was also limited with about three or four cheeses, three dips, some breads and crackers and that was about it. I noted my disappointment on the comment card. Unlike previous visits the Club staff this time had a master sheet of rooms and guests, meaning our additional guest was required to pay, albeit not a huge amount (per consumption, nonetheless) on check-out.

No problem with choosing a full breakfast in The Cafe in the lobby over the continental in the lounge; there's simply an additional $15 per person extra charge.

Other than that, very nice, once again.
