I have stayed at both many times. You can't beat the views at the Waterfront, and they have a great lounge, as pointed out. However, I always felt that the service was somewhat impersonal and that they were not always "on the ball." By comparison, the Ren is older and doesn't have the same views, but my experience was that I always had excellent service.
