When I cancel a reward ticket and have those miles credited back to my account, what is the expiry date of those miles?
Is it seven years after
a) the date they were earned in the first place?
b) the date they were credited back to the account?
I got around to asking Aeroplan this very question today, and the agent checked with her supervisor. She came back to state that the "accumulation" date is the date on which the miles are re-deposited into the account.
This is rather interesting, as it does bring up the possibility of churning the miles for $90 a pop (figure on a 300,000 mile redemption for a RTW, re-deposited shortly thereafter).
I'll be that nobody is willing to confirm this in writing, however....
