Cathay announced this is due to price sensitive information, whilst Swire Pacific and HAECO announced this is due to a pending announcement pursuant to the Hong Kong Code on Takeovers and Mergers. Although details were not disclosed, Kelvin Lau of Daiwa Capital Markets predicts this is due to Cathay's imminent sale of its 15% shareholding in HAECO to Swire Pacific in order to simplify its shareholding structure."
