Agreed - I do the same. However...

Sometimes I want to know precisely where I took the shot. For example - taking hundreds of shots over a hike through Annapurna in Nepal, or catching a unique city view in San Francisco. I can then look at the lat/long and plot exactly where I was when taking the shot.

Also, geotagging is useful for photo displays on the web... Such as showing a "road trip" album by plotting all of the photos on a google map.
