All my friends who are pilots know this going in - It's no suprise. It's the same situation for my friends who are social workers. They knew it didn't pay well from the outset, but did the job because they love it.

It's one of the many reasons I chose not to go into aviation, although I love it. It doesn't pay well, other than for a select few.
