Review - June 2010 stay

^ Had a recent 2 night stay in a Chesapeake Suite with resort view (front of property). Suite is very spacious (800sf) and consists of a large (400sf) King bed room adjoining to a seperate (400sf) living room that has a large dining table sink/fridge and sectional couch w/pull out sleeper. Both rooms have a full bath as well.

Used SFEVER rate of $129 w/diamond upgrade so this was a great bargain although I believe this special rate expired on 6/4. Although some may question the value of burining a diamond upgrade on such a short stay I would rather do that than risk letting it expire since I don't expect to have a better use for it before February. This was our second stay at this property; previous stay was about 2 years ago.

Resort fee was $12.72/nt. including tax. Internet and RC access were comped for Diamonds.

Spent most of the time at the poolside which was nice and the water was heated so no issues even though early in the season. Poolside food and drink service was great and the facilities were very uncrowded at this time of year.

Had one lunch the Water's Edge restaurant on the glassed in porch overlooking the rear of the property and the river. Also had one dinner at Blue Point Provision (technically part of the resort but located a short walk or shuttle bus ride away at the adjacent Marina) which was also excellent.

Used the fitness room which was well equipped with newer LifeFitness equipment. Did not use the spa this time, but we did book the Chesapeake Couples experience (foot bath & full body massage in couples suite) on our previous stay and loved it.

Regency club was also great (located on 6th floor facing with water views). Had 2 continental breakfasts there and also stopped by 2 evenings for drinks/dessert. They also had complimentary beer/wine/soda/juice/bottled water and the staff was great as well. Really enjoyed sitting out on the deck at the RC which overlooks the (18th? hole of) golf course as well as the river and nearby Hwy 50 bridge.

We like this place for a quick getaway since it is the only Hyatt resort that is driving distance from our home in the Northeast. Our other favorites require a plane ticket and longer stay to justify the travel, unfortunately. This recent stay did not disappoint and we would stay again as well as consider using a Diamond Suite upgrade if we had one available. I would say that Diamonds are treated well here based on my experience.
