It's the former. You walk through the business class section towards your seat immediately behind it.
As for seat selection, aside from paying for one of the preferred seats, I really like 79K. For a tall person (I'm a tad over 6 foot) the curvature of the cabin enables me to lean my head on the window wall quite comfortably.
