Ironically, BA has seen the light, at least on European routes from London. I recently priced a same day return LHR-CDG-LHR. Priced at just over $US100 on BA, $US115 on BD, $US400 on AF!

The problem with the international flights and pricing is that there is little, if no real competition on Int'l routes. The alliances have stifled competition, not helped it. The only way to make fares and service competitive on Int'l routes is to break up the cartels such as OneWorld, Star and SkyTeam.
