A lot of TAs make 'fake' dupe bookings to hold space on flights, even ticketing the same. Airlines of course don't like this, as their revenue/load forecasting is distorted by this.
I know TA's make fake bookings but they normally don't issue the fake bookings. As then they would have to pay the cancellation charges.
I have had dupe bookings cancelled before which were not ticketed. But I found it weird that they would cancel a paid and ticketed flight. The airline doesn't have my contact details as of now so what if there were two Mr A Smith flying on the same flight but in different class. Risky to cancel one ticket due to duplicate?
Any ways out of this?
