The smaller stations often only have a few people who also unload bags, guide the aircraft in, etc. They may have been dealing with the incoming aircraft at that time. My first instinct would be to have a Continental representative paged to the check-in counter.
That probably would've been a good idea, but the person working behind the other airline (I want to say it was united) said that the CO person had probably left for the day since my flight was the last of the day... They said I should try to catch them in their office, and I had some time, so I figured that would be the course of action I should take
