Okay, let's clear this up.

AS does have a program in place for when a spouse or a loved one passes away.

There are no fees and the program is pretty straight forward. A few things to note. The Mileage Plan account of the deceased (I hate saying that word) must still be active. The person making the request must have a Mileage Plan account opened to have the miles transferred to. Also, you need to have a copy of the death certificate.

Just call Customer Care. The entire process will take up to 5 business days from when you fax the request.
