Once at the DFW south FS Marriott, I dropped in w/out a res.
The young man at the FD stonewalled me on a gov. rate room,
"we are completely booked".
When I said, "I know you're lying, tell you what, I'll pay rack",
all kinds of rooms "became" available, at roughly double gov. rate.
An assistant manager, who was listening, asked me if I had any
status and could he see my card?
When I complied, he gave me the room at my requested rate.
That's the one time in 5 years it's been out of my wallet.
