Change of equipment - compensation
It seems AA is really trying to go out of their way to piss me off lately.
AA 973 (767-300) JFK-GIG Aug 1, Paid business class ticket. I upgraded to F using a VIP. We pulled away from the gate, were about to take off and the captain said we had to go back to the gate because of a cabin pressure problem. Well, we get back and an hour later they said they couldn't fix it and they were going to change aircraft. No biggie, but they put us on a 767-200, with the old fuzzy seats in F, not the flat beds that are in the 300. The actually had to IDB to some people because the plane is smaller and nobody volunteered.
I wrote AA expressing my displeasure, and the fact that I would never have upgraded if I was not going to be in a flat bed. I requested that they either return a VIPOW, or credit me with 25k miles, the cost of a one way upgrade to D from F.
Someone just left me a message saying they're sorry, and as a "token of good will" they will deposit 8k miles in my account.
Somehow, I just don't feel that's acceptable. Thoughts?
