Even if you decide to stay with DL, you should be sure to sign up for a AS FF account with this offer. Can you use it to fly to PDX before the end of the month to check out Portland (which I agree is a great city)? Then claim your free flight on AS. These experiences will help you to decide whether to stick with DL in the longer term if you do move north.

As I see it, the main advantage of AS to you would be the flights into the LA area airports you want and the better FF program for award tickets. Remember, who to fly and where to credit your miles are separate decisions.
