It only isnt if you choose to use it for a lower priced ticket...
It's not worth $200 if you buy a UA ticket that is more expensive than an OAL ticket that you would have bought had you not had the cert.

Or, if the cert pushes you to UA metal which gives you a suboptimal time/price/route where you could've bought a partner/codeshare/etc.

Remember those certs are restrictive.
