MEL-SYD-SFO questions
Hey everyone,
I'm doing my first long haul flight on United in Sep from SFO-SYD-MEL-SYD-SFO and have a few questions.

I'm waiting for an upgrade to clear (550 bucks and 30K miles) for the SFO-SYD leg but spent $50 bucks to upgrade the MEL-SYD leg but will be in coach for the SYD-SFO leg back. My question is in Melbourne do I get any perks for being in J (might upgrade to First) for the short hop to Sydney but then go back to Y for the long leg? Like checking in with the first or business check in area etc? Any help would be great!

Looking forward to trying United up front on the 747 but not in Y!
