Happened to me quite a number of years ago, a KL 737 landing at AMS. First attempt we were quite low when we pulled up. Pilot announced a problem with the flaps. The second attempt was really half-hearted - we pulled away pretty soon after getting on to the glide path and then spent about 20 minutes going around. On the third attempt I suspect the pilot used a different approach angle and we landed quite safely but at what looked like a rather faster speed than usual.
