Reading some other old threads I found makes it seem like it's possible to get from Kingston to Newport by bus (not on a Sunday) using the RIPTA #64 bus, schedule here.

The last bus, though, seems to leave Kingston at 5.15pm, whereas the northbound Regional arrives there (at least on the date I'm looking at in August) at 5.18pm. Can this really be true? Or does the bus wait?

And if it doesn't wait, do people arriving at Kingston club together and shares rides on a shuttle? Would such a shuttle have to be prebooked or could it be done ad-hoc at Kingston itself on arrival? And how much would it cost?

What about returning from Newport to Kingston on a Sunday afternoon? Is a taxi the only method? How much would it cost and can anyone recommend any taxi companies' contact details?

Finally, is there an Amtrak thruway bus that I could book in conjunction with the train ticket and earn AGR points on? Or is that not available on this route?
