It's funny to see all this talk of booking a a non-stop flight and wanting to stand-by for non-stop. When I sent my ORD- BWI itinary to my friend, she wondered why I was going home to chicago via Dallas. She offerred alternative airlines. I told her I would explain why I did this on purpose. I got a lot of extra miles for $3 extra. So, when you take a non-stop you get less of a "mileage run." Of course, sometimes time is more important. Going, I went direct.
