I did also have a look at AF Les Cars, but seemed a bit over priced tbh. EUR 11.50 per person to Invalides and then Metro 8 from there... The OrlyBus @ EUR 6.40 to Denfert-Rochereau looks like a good option and then the RER/Metro from there but so is now a taxi if it costs around EUR 25.00 to the city. Am I starting to move away from public transportation as my main transport objective...

We have a quite big Samsonite bag with us so it needs a little contemplating

Yes, the AF coaches are a little bit expensive but it's much more comfortable than Roissybus or Orlybus. In your case, with a big suitcase and as there is no direct option by public transportations, no hesitation I would take a cab. But for where you live, the price will be more in the 35 Eur (25 is for the south of Paris)
