Btw, it could be worse (especially to island-type destinations). They could have stopped serving it daily and changed the day on you, or made it via connection only, or you could have a prepaid hotel or cruise that you now have to deal with, and so on.

If you'd rather go the next day instead (to avoid the extra day off work issue), they should allow that.
I totally agree with channa on this one. Keep the fare, but DO NOT ACCEPT IT... as long as you haven't officially 'agrred' to the new time, you hold the cards for a full cancellation. If something better comes up, you can just cancel CO and get your $$ back. CO 'may' also decide to add an addtional flight that day, or be more accomodating on the next day's flight etc. You have lots of time to make a decision, and worse comes to worse, you take the early flight, but at least you have options.
