Any reason to do a Gold and not a Platinum Challenge?
With the information about the SCL Mileage Runs coming out... I've been thinking about my first MR and a Challenge run.
The way that I read it (and please, someone correct me)
ATL-SCL is 11,202 miles. At the very least, this would equate to 5,601 Q-points.... more than enough for the Gold Challenge. 2 RTs would finish a Plat Challenge.
However, I don't fly much (at least, I haven't had a reason to do so). So, most likely, I would either drop down in status (from Plat to Gld) or lose status completely after the initial membership period.
Therefore, I wonder - Is there any reason why someone would just do a Gold Challenge (and not try for Plat)?
Thanks,
Jeff
