And i do have some sympathy for the OP. I once made the mistake of venturing onto a BA domestic flight. It was quite a battle to get my hand luggage onboard in the first place as the gate agents tried to relieve me of it, but I referred them to what an Exec Club member could carry.

Thank Goodness we can board first as I needed virtually two overhead lockers for my Tumi T3 22", complete with garment bag and laptap case.
