okay, thx for the feedback. I do have to say after flying WN and complaining to everyone I know before I got on the flight...it was actually a very nice flight. FA's all cheery. come by with peanuts and pretzels, something I haven't seen in Y in years on UA. even boarding - i was making fun of it to people via text/twitter...how confusing all the numbers were. i have to say, UA could learn a thing or two from the WN boarding process. It was also so efficient. boarded much quicker than a UA plane. last person on, door shuts, start moving - maybe 3 minutes...versus UA there is always a 5+ minute lag there for paperwork. we start moving then they do the live safety demo. they turn planes much quicker than UA. i wonder how much cost that saves them. UA should try to steal from this playbook.
so back to my issue. i will write UA a letter and ask if there is any refund more they can give. a $30 refund from UA for a $200 ticket on WN is pretty low. I know there's the cert, but we all know certs aren't the same as cash.
i did think ua handled it nicely. at least the ga was nicer than the 1k line.
one difference between this and the omaha story above...this was mx, yours was "weather" - it is a difference, though i understand the quotes. what is reasonable to get me home? i don't know. scheduled arrival is like 5pm. i have to work at 7am tomorrow. and rebooking me on a flight to get in just before midnight. it does seem to be bad option 1 versus 2.
anyway, that's my story for today
