I must be missing something. Why is this any better than doing AA to London and then BA to and from India. It's true that the T4/T3 connections are a pain, but return layovers to most destinations are much shorter via London, the VIPOW upgrades only work on the transatlantic segments in both cases, and BA business class (for those who travel that way) is much more comfortable than Swiss.
