My husband's been offered a position in London that pays a base of 50K pounds/year... We would live on the Piccadilly line somewhere between Knightsbridge and Hammersmith. We'd like a 1-2 bedroom flat (not shared) of about 45 sq. meters.

The salary may not be spectacular, but the good news is that we have savings to supplement traveling, etc. And we're looking at this as an adventure.

So, what do you think? Will the 50K salary provide us with a decent standard of living in that area? We don't want to use our savings just to live...

Also, I'm thinking that our housing budget should be 300-350 ppw... Doable and realistic for that area? Or should I budget less based on the salary?
