Interesting footnote: Lorenzo pulled System One Direct Access out of EA and Continental Computer Services out of CO and passed them to Texas Air Corp., reimbursing the carriers with a $100M note that was supposed to come due in 2012. I wonder if that note is still around, or if it was nullified in one of the many bankruptcy/liquidation proceedings?
Frank couldn't get one of the big mainframe companies to set up a computer system for Continental, so he acquired Eastern, and "transferred" System One (now OnePass) on paper to Texas Air, then charged Eastern a fee for every ticket booked on their own airline. What chutzpah!
