A little OT, how is the upgrade % on UA compared to AS?
1. Book a tee time cause I'm there!!! (never played Trump National BTW).

2. Yes. That's one way I do. Then throw in a transcon or two & I'm MVPG. Only problem is that I HATE the seats in F on AS's 700/800. I think there super uncomfortable compared to UA's F seats (& I'm talking single isle vs. widebody cause to compare the 2 ain't fair & that's a beast of a different nature).

3. That's a little harder question to answer, here's why...on AS I ONLY book U fares (with the exception of QX of course). If AS doesn't have a U fare available for that flight, then I won't fly AS, period. SO, on AS, my upgrade clearance is 100% (if you see what I mean).

On UA, my upgrade clearance rate w/the UDU program is shocking 100%! But then again, I'm REALLY picky about the metal I fly on. I'll try to stick to 757's or 320's even if it means going earlier or later than I originally want. NOTHING is more important to me than the upgrade! I am even 100% on 319's so far this year which kinda stuns me cause that's the toughest upgrade in the UA system. I'm leaving p.s. flights out of this discussion cause that's also a "seperate beast" if you know what I mean*

*I normally have 20 CR-1's every year that I use for my p.s. flights or when flying LAX>IAD on the 777. Domestic 747 are beyond easy to upgrade of course & are my favorite planes. The new C/F configuration is really amazing (-:

At the MVPG gold lunch last year in the OC, I asked Double R if AS ever had plans to fly LAX>NYC. His every lucid answer was that AS COULD compete on the soft product for example, but could never compete on the hard product. AS can't compete on 38" of pitch vs. 55"...
