FlyinDutchman is right about the upgrades. They are gone for FB, unless they have a need for OpUps and they have processed every single DL elite first.
(A friendly GA at DL did try in ATL for me, but could not get the computer to process me for a free upgrade, even though the flight was oversold.)

This also the case when you fly Delta from AMS while booked it via KLM as a KL flight. There was quite a fuss about this at the boarding gate when I flew to Atlanta 2 weeks ago and numerous people where upgraded and none of the FB'ers.
