I was on a flight from SFO-ORD about a month ago. We started to roll down the runway, approached take off speed and WHAMMO! The pilot slamms on the breaks, throttles down the plane, ABS kicks in and works like a charm.
Aborted take off.
The pilot comes on the overhead and says, "Well folks, I wasn't my intention to test the maximum breaking ability of this plane on this flight (which mind you was a 767-300), but there was a warning light which I felt should be attended to.
At this time, there was a slight uneasy laughter.
