Whatever other obstacles stand in the way, I wouldn't see it currently being all Y as a problem. It's already got a quasi-C option in terms of having and charging more for Y seats with 38" pitch, albeit they are still 6 across. It conceivably could stick with this. Or if it wanted/needed to offer a premium cabin to join an alliance, it could simply take the European approach of closing off the middle seat to make it more truly C (or in the domestic USA travel context, what's called F).
Come to think of it, if JetBlue were to go that latter route, and given the IFE options and better service it offers, it's C/F (domestic) product would be as good or better than any US legacy carrier.
