Good lord. Imagine the typical traveler (who by the way is responsible for filling up most of the plane and thereby keeping Delta's business model flying) who thought they bought a ticket entitling them not only to transportation from point A to B, but also to be treated fairly, equally and humanely (and logically from an operational standpoint) like any other purchase on the free market and like any other legitimate economy-ticket holding passenger. They then find themselves surrounded by snotty, tantrum-throwing drama queens - who may not even fly as much or pay as much as the typical traveler but who polish their little FO card and check their Skymiles mileage balance online every night before going to bed -- loudly .....ing about how DL forgets how damn important they are or elbowing their way through the crowd waving their card like a winning lottery ticket with their overgrown sense of entitlement and indignation steaming out of their ears.
"Slap in the face"? Perhaps that is exactly what some people need!
