Is the Explora really over $1000/night!? Is it anywhere near being worth it?
We paid less than $1000 but todays prices are well over that amount. All the Explora Hotels are very much top of the range. The actual rooms need a bit to get used to but service is top notch. Food is also excellent, the wines are good as well. The Explora owner has some own vineyards so those wines are included in the price, some "premium" wines cost extra.
Explora is the only 5 star property on Rapa Nui. Is it worth it? Depends on how much you enjoy the luxury and how much money you have.
We enjoyed our stay but didn't take any of the included tours as we have very unique travel needs but I was told from other guests that they were fabulous.
