I have no idea if it will post. If I had to wager, I'd say probably not.

If it doesn't post, I wouldn't want to be the one trying to claim the points anyway since this setup is a bit sketchy.

Idea for the future: set up in advance, with YOU as the guest and your friend as the "additional guest"...that should work fine as most hotels will let either guest check in/out so even if you never show up, you may get the points. @:-)

I have done that before with no problem...admittedly it was on bookings where I did honestly intend to join up and simply couldn't make it due to cancelled flights, etc....but my gf stayed, I didn't, and I got the points.
