Not withstanding mechanical or weather delays, which are unpredictable, I think you are okay with the 6am. Chances are you will be arriving departing from C/E to C/E, which doesn't require getting on a bus or tram. Try to get a seat close to the front on your PDX-IAH segment so you are one of the first off the plane. That will hep considerably.
