No way would I do the RER -> 14 xfer at Chatelet with luggage. If you're already going to be schlepping, go to the 1 (unless you really have a ton of stuff) and save yourself the extra walk on the other end. But I agree, taxi is the way to go I think - but the lines at GdN can be absolutely painful.
