I'm FB silver and in February I flew from DTW-MIA return on an Award Ticket and was allowed to check-in up to 2 bags free online. I thought it may have been a glitch, but I selected 1 bag to check anyways, if they told me I had to pay at the airport I would have not checked-in but fortunatley they didnt say anything. Same thing for the return, allowed up to 2 bags free. And more recently I flew again between YYZ-JFK and once again I was allowed to check-in 2 bags. Even though on DL's website it says that SkyTeam Elite or Elite plus passengers are not exempt from paying baggage charges I guess maybe their system is still glitchy from the merger or because of their JV with AF/KL and they said they would be offering recipricol benefits to each others passengers maybe thats why I wasn't charged?
