I NEVER said that distilled water is not necessary for my CPAP. It causes buildup in the humidifier that over time will cause it to not heat the water and not work properly. I said that I travel very frequently and that my CPAP already has some build up from before I started traveling with distilled water. My doctor has told me to ONLY use distilled water in it and the manufacturer states that it should only be used with distilled water.
You sound as though you have a workable solution in using distilled water.^
I just hope that the re-education for TSA employees is as unpleasant for them as was your dealings with TSA.
One day a TSA employee's actions will lead to either death or permanent disability for someone whose only transgression was the desire/need to fly.
