An additional note:

This routing also provides interesting opportunities for two day trips:

-to Yosemite Valley (+$15) or Merced (+27.50) via Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) ( dailyfrom June through September when highway 120 is open over Tioga Pass)

-or to Carson City (+$23) or Reno (+$35) via Eastern Sierra Transit Authority's Bishop to Reno bus....which runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Incidentally, this route is cheaper than either Greyhound or Amtrak to all destinations other than Merced.
